Twitter-pated

I have joined the ranks of the Twitter-ers...Tweeters...Twittites???

Anywho, I'm on Twitter now- but solely for makeup and beauty purposes-I will not be telling you what I had for lunch or how I did my hair today. I may throw in some funny moments, but just because I seem to have alot of them!

Palm Trees and Patios Contd.

More inspiration. Ahhhh, it makes me want to do some "research" -perhaps a weekend in Palm Springs. :)

And I think lemon trees would look great and smell wonderful. And kunquat trees too- I remember growing up with one of these in the backyard and I loved it- plus, it seemed pretty hearty.

Palm Trees and Patios

Since I seem to be the person who always needs a project, one item on my Summer To-Do List is: Patio.

We are hoping to build our patio and do some fixin' up of the backyard. We have always wanted a big patio for entertaining, it just hasn't been a high priority. Well, it's movin' on up the list!

We haven't broken ground yet, but I wanted to start brainstorming the overall layout and vibe the patio should have. I'm not going to buy until I have the actual frame, but it never hurts to be prepared :)

I have always loved the old Hollywood charm of classic Palm Springs- the retro colors and streamlined furniture mixed with kitchy odd and ends. I spent a weekend working at the Viceroy in Palm Springs and fell in love- the entire hotel is yellow, black and white. That's it. And it's awesome. The bright green landscape completes the bold palette. So, here are some idears I have--

If anyone knows of a good place to find similar things or of anyone getting rid of their patio set (that has a vintage feel)- let me know!!!

Wedding Update:

The wedding was a success! What a blessing! But I will say that I have never worked so hard in my life- or been so covered in sweat. ew.

It was a long and extremely busy week but the day of started out with a venti skinny hazelnut latte at the 'bucks and ran smoothly from there. I was sent two major angels- Rindi and my sis- I seriously could not have done it without them! I wielded the mighty clipboard and together, we were able to coordinate, corral, and feed and water 150 people :)

We received alot of compliments from guests, and the bride, groom and family were all happy- and that's all that matters.

I have a few snapshots from the videographer of the getting ready process- Tina wanted the no makeup, very natural look. Forgive my appearance- setting up a wedding isn't glamorous :)

She also got some great shots of the flowers :)

Laura K. Moore (photography/video)is a fabulous person- I wish I had known her when P and I got married. She has a tremendous personality and goes the distance to get the shot. She is pregnant and on more than one occasion, I saw her sprinting across the lawn to capture something special. I hope to work with her again soon!

And there may be some more wedding coordinating in my future...time will tell ;)

So a HUGE THANK YOU to all those that helped and made sure I stayed relatively sane. Sis- thanks for sewing my dress so I looked presentable, and being the eyes in the back of my head; Singh Fam- thank you for everything the week before, and the day of and the day after...haha. You were all so gracious to open up your home. And thank you for keeping us fed!

Playing Catch Up.

Wow. I am really behind.

There is so much that has been going on lately- with makeup, work, and planning a friends wedding!
I called my mom the other day to thank her for teaching me so much, even when she wasn't trying to. I think I learned through osmosis because I have been spouting out plans, schedules, and ideas I never knew I had. It's been a total blessing to be able to help our friends and be a part of their special day.
It also got me thinking, that someday, when we have kids (yes, Mom, we are actually looking/planning/hoping within the one year timeline now), they are going to learn from me just by being around me. I won't have to say or teach, they will observe and absorb like little sponges, all of my actions--it really made me think of how exciting it will be to show them new things but also, it took me out of my own shoes for a second to examine myself the way others might see me. What do they see? What do they learn? What do I project?
---------
Here are some pictures from the wedding project. It takes place this Sunday at sunset-this will be a major accomplishment for me! Mom, I do not know how you did 3 or 4 of these in a weekend. I have so much overwhelming respect and awe for that woman even more so now-she is a warrior!
Embarking upon our first trip to Shinodas- THE BEST place for flowers! I came so close to buying this helmet, but then I knew Puneet would want a Viking helmet of his own, so I waited :)

The Flower Haul.

Baxter helping me make centerpieces. He sat on every tool I needed.

My first run at bridesmaid bouquets- she wanted something simple and chic.

My front room as it stands.

I will definitely be posting the finished product next week- please pray for a problem-free and sensational wedding!
